Christmas in Valkenburg
Experience a Dutch Christmas and join us on a Christmas break by coach to Valkenburg. From our base in Valkenburg, we offer excursions to Monschau, Liège and Maastricht. We spend Christmas Eve in Maastricht, where you can wander the pretty streets and visit the Christmas Market to get you in the festive spirit. On Christmas Day, enjoy a delicious turkey lunch, and enjoy some free time in our hotel and host town of Valkenburg. Finally, we spend Boxing Day enjoying an excursion to Monschau to wander the pretty cobbled streets, before visiting Liège which will still be full of festive spirit.

This morning we have an included excursion to Maastricht, which comes alive with its festive events. Vrijthof Square is home to a magical Christmas Market and light routes illuminate the city as you wander the streets. We return to Valkenburg for time at leisure in this popular Dutch town.

Merry Christmas! We enjoy a relaxing day today with time to enjoy your hotel and host town of Valkenburg. We will enjoy a Christmas lunch in our hotel and why not walk off the Christmas turkey with a stroll through the pretty streets.

We start today with a trip through the Eifel hills to Monschau, a beautiful town with picturesque half timbered houses and buildings. After time for a stroll around we continue to Liege in Belgium where the Christmas Market will still be in full swing and where you can enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Please note that Christmas Eve/Day is a traditional religious festival and in many areas is still celebrated as such. This may mean that facilities in towns, villages and hotels may close early or be closed.
Accommodation
You will stay for four nights at the 3-star Hotel Walram located in the centre of Valkenburg. The hotel has a lift, restaurant, bar, indoor swimming pool, sauna and solarium. Overnight stay in Belgium will be in a city-style hotel.

The Hotel Walram is a comfortable, family-run hotel with splendid views over the famous castle ruins of Valkenburg. It is situated on a quiet square, close to the picturesque little waterfall of the River Geul. The town centre boats a host of shops, cafés, and restaurants, and is just a short 2-minute walk away.
