Fly from your regional airport to Bologna Airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a seven-night stay.
Bologna has one of the most beautiful and best preserved historic districts in Europe. Today the group will enjoy a 2-hour city guide in Bologna through the old University City, known for the ‘degli Asinelli’ and ‘della Garisenda’ towers, the San Petronio Basilica and the Neptune Fountain.
This morning head east to the Adriatic coast and the city of Cervia. Salt production has a long history in the city which is surrounded by salt pans. You will learn all about the history and production techniques used today to create a range of different salts through a guided tour of the saltworks. The group will then enjoy a lunch break at a rustic restaurant with a dish of Spaghetti alla Marinara (with tasty mussels) and a glass of white wine.
In the afternoon, you will head to Ravenna, former capital of the Western Roman Empire which offers some of the best city sightseeing in Italy. Explore the most important architectural monuments from the Gothic and Byzantine eras, including the Galla Placidia Mausoleum with its splendid mosaics.
The former royal city of Parma offers magnificent buildings including the Palazzo Ducale built along French lines, the wooden Teatro Farnese and the Cathedral’s Baptistery. In Parma the group will enjoy a 2 hour guided tour and also a Gourmet walking tour including cheese and ham tasting. Then continue to Langhirano, at the heart of Parma Ham country, where we discover all about the production of one of Italy’s most recognisable food products. A sample tasting is a must!
Today, enjoy lunch at a typical Agriturismo. In the afternoon visit the medieval village of Dozza, with its castle and archetypal decorated houses. This area is known for the production of Lambrusco and we will end our day with a visit a winery to sample the wine.

Today visit Modena where you will have a two hour city tour. Modena is not only the spiritual home of Ferrari sports cars but also a town of wide arcaded streets and large squares, Cathedral, and Ghirlandia Tower. Continue on to Maranello to visit the famous Ferrari Museum. As a tasty end to the day, you will visit a balsamic vinegar cellar to learn all about the tradition and production techniques which guarantee the quality of the vinegar, which like grappa, is based on grape must. This evening the group will enjoy a traditional Dinner at a local restaurant.

Depart the hotel after breakfast and transfer to Bologna airport for the return flight to your regional airport.
