This morning, we will travel by coach to Blickling Estate, where you will have time at leisure to explore the house and garden. This old mansion has been around since the time of the Domesday Book and is believed to be where Anne Boleyn was born. Inside, there are many rooms to explore; from the Great Hall and the Long Gallery to the South Drawing Room, each is filled with its own stories and history. The gardens are just as beautiful, with the Walled Garden and the Parterre standing out as highlights.
Following our visit, the coach takes us to the market town of Aylsham, where we join the Bure Valley Railway. Travelling through the beautiful Norfolk countryside, we’ll cross 17 bridges before reaching charming Wroxham – the 'capital of the Norfolk Broads'.
Enjoy time to explore this delightful town before re-joining the coach and heading to Hoveton Hall. The gardens here are brimming with unique varieties of plants and trees, and there are several walks which provide stunning vistas. Expect to see snowdrops and daffodils in the springtime, while azaleas and rhododendrons take centre stage in early summer. The herbaceous and Kitchen Gardens are a highlight in the following months, with beautifully kept lawns and over 600 different, rare, and unusual plant varieties.
After free time to explore the gardens, we will return to the hotel by coach.

This morning, we will board our coach and head to Houghton Hall. Built in the 18th century for Britain’s first Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole, Houghton Hall is one of the finest Palladian houses in the UK. The work of famous architects James Gibbs and Colen Campbell can be seen throughout the house, with the richly ornamented interiors of William Kent complementing the house's design. Houghton is now the home of the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley – Walpole's descendant – and his family. Not to be missed is the five-acre Walled Garden, a visual treat with its vast collection of flowers, a formal rose garden, and fruit-bearing trees.
In the afternoon, we'll journey to Sandringham House. Enjoy time to explore the gardens at your leisure, and once the house is closed to the public, we’ll join an exclusive ‘after hours’ private tour of the house with an experienced guide. Construed in 1870 by The Prince and Princess of Wales, who later became later King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, Sandringham is brimming with objects d'art – both Queen Alexandra and later Queen Mary were great collectors. Gifts of enamel, silver and silver-gilt were often brought by members of the Russian and European royal families; for example, an exquisite Dresden porcelain chandelier was presented by Kaiser Wilhelm I of Germany. The hallways are lined with family portraits, and an extensive collection of oriental arms and armour – which was brought back from the Far East and India in 1876 – is waiting to be explored.
We return to the hotel and enjoy dinner this evening.

After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we will board our coach and travel to Hindringham Hall Gardens. Like something from a fairy tale, this manor house features a medieval moat, working walled vegetable garden, and formal and informal borders wrapped around a brick and flint Tudor Hall. With time to explore at your own pace, why not admire the roses, watch the swans, or simply sit back and soak up the serenity of the garden? We include tea or coffee and cake in the café by the moat.
We will return to the hotel for dinner. Based on designs by William Kent and built by Thomas Coke, 1st Earl of Leicester, Holkham Hall is an 18th-century Palladian-style house situated within 25,000 acres of stunning parkland. The Marble Hall, with its magnificent 50ft dome ceiling and elegant walls of English alabaster, is sure to impress, while the state dining rooms are decorated with opulent porcelain. Remaining largely unchanged since the late 18th century, there is plenty to take in at Holkham Hall.
