We cruise from Remagen to Oberwesel, then we include an excursion by coach to Rüdesheim for a magical visit to the Christmas market. We continue by coach to Koblenz where we rejoin our cruise ship where there's time to enjoy the lively festive spirit of the delightful market. Tonight is Captain's dinner and party evening!

We cruise to Koblenz. Why not join our optional coach excursion along the Moselle Valley, visiting the riverside village of Alken, where you’ll enjoy wine-tasting at the popular House of Anton Hammes. The Moselle River is the longest tributary of the Rhine. It is a gentle river valley that boasts some stunning scenery as the river meanders between the hills of the Hunsruck and the Eifel.
During our tour we will visit the charming wine town of Cochem, dominated by the ancient and mighty Reichsburg Castle, dramatically perched on a hillside overlooking the town. The Moselle Valley is a famous centre of German white wine production and during our excursion we will have the chance to sample this local wine at the House of Anton Hammes. As well as the wine-tasting you will have the opportunity to purchase the wine should you wish to do so. We return to Koblenz for some free time to enjoy the festive spirit of the Christmas market before re-joining our ship.

We cruise to Rüdesheim, home of the Drosselgasse, lined with traditional German bars and shops. Explore the Christmas market or why not join our optional ‘Highlights of Rudesheim’ excursion, enjoying sightseeing by little road train and visiting Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Museum. The museum is home to one of the largest collections of self-playing mechanical musical instruments in the world and our visit provides a spectacle of fascination. You will see the various instruments and have the chance to listen too many of the instruments and fairground organs play their different tunes.
We return to the Rhine Princess for tonight’s Captain’s dinner and party evening!

The festive stalls will be overflowing with seasonal bargains and gift ideas, and the magic of Christmas can be felt throughout the festively decorated city. Enjoy the aromas of baked apples, cinnamon, and mulled wine wafting through the alleys.

Accommodation
You will spend three or four nights on board the 3-star standard cruise ship, the MS Rhine Princess, a firm favourite with Leger guests and exclusively chartered by Leger. Facilities include a lounge bar with small dance floor, restaurant on the middle deck and a small, quiet lounge with library. There is also an outside sundeck, ideal for viewing the passing scenery. All cabins have twin beds, climate control, en suite facilities and portholes. Cabins are located on three decks and all have twin beds and ensuite facilities. The ship has a restaurant and shop with small gifts, souvenirs, postcards and Rhine River maps for sale.
