Fly to Keflavik Airport and transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik.
Join our included excursion, as we travel through the south Iceland farming lands to the black sand beaches, thundering waterfalls, powerful volcanoes and majestic glaciers of the south coast. The first stop is at Skógarfoss, a picturesque waterfall which flows down the slopes of Eyjafjallajökull volcano and is frequently used in films and commercials. Later, enjoy a leisurely stroll along the black sand beach of Reynisfjara. The beach features basalt columns with surrounding cliffs scattered with caves. Offshore you will see the famous Reynisdrangar – basalt rock stacks that rise from the sea. Icelandic legend says they were trolls turned into rock by the rising sun when they came home late after a fishing trip. We round off this fantastic sightseeing tour with a stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you can walk behind this magnificent wall of water, right in the slopes of Eyjafjallajökull volcano. On a clear day there's a fantastic view of this famous volcano, along with Hekla, one of Iceland's most active volcanoes. You will also see the Westman Islands, rising steeply from the ocean just a few kilometres off the coast.

Spend the day exploring the city independently. Reykjavik itself translates as ‘smoky bay’, and is the world’s most northerly capital city. See some of the highlights, including the beautiful old town, the stunning cathedral, bustling harbour and the Saga Museum, which showcases the most historical figures and major events in Icelandic history. You may also wish to join our optional whale watching tour which runs from the harbour. Alternatively, head to the Blue Lagoon on one of the regular transfers (at additional cost).

Join our included excursion as we head from Reykjavik on the the Golden Circle tour, which takes you via Nesjavellir geothermal field up to Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site where the tectonic plates of Europe and North America meet and where one of the world's oldest parliaments was founded in 930 AD. We're then treated to an up close and personal view of one of Iceland's largest personalities: Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall) – one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. Majestic and thunderous, the force and beauty of this two tiered waterfall is amazing. Next is Geysir Geothermal Field, home of the famous Geysir and Strokkur hot springs. The Strokkur hot spring erupts around every 5 minutes, making it one of the most active geysers. From Geysir area, the trip continues to Skálholt Church, which was the seat of religious power in Iceland for centuries and where some of the most dramatic events in Iceland's history took place.
