Today, you will have the full day to discover the Hungarian capital of Budapest. The city is composed of two historically independent communities, Buda and Pest, separated by the majestic River Danube. Our optional guided sightseeing tour will introduce you to the city’s array of spectacular sights. This will include travelling by coach to reach Castle Hill where we start our walking tour to see Fishermens’ Bastion, Mathias Church, with a view of the famous Parliament building, the Presidental Sandor Palace, the Prime Minister's Office in the former Carmelita Monastery and the Royal Palace with Csikós Courtyards. Afterwards, why not join our optional Danube lunch cruise? The Danube is the second longest river in Europe after the Volga, which flows through central Russia. Classified as an international waterway, the Danube originates in the town of Donaueschingen in the Black Forest of Germany. It then flows southeast for almost 3,000 km passing through four central European capitals before emptying into the Black Sea. Our cruise boat has an airconditioned dining hall, with panoramic windows and will take you along the majestic Danube River allowing you to take in the spectacular views of Budapest, which can also be enjoyed from the sundeck with guided commentary on the second part of the cruise. A sumptuous buffet lunch of traditional Hungarian dishes is provided, alongside a complimentary welcome drink from the bar as well as half a bottle of white or red wine. The cruise lasts 1.5 hours and parking is located close by to the boat, so guests with walking difficulties can join. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore the city on your own, maybe take a stroll by the river or visit the tempting stores of the Vaci Utca street, ensuring that your time in this wonderful city is certainly something to remember.

The Tour itself was fantastic. Shaun and Kieran the drivers were brilliant. The city tour of Prague and the lunch cruise were great. An organ concert in Budapest before the Budapest by Night tour was really good with a glass of champagne. The day tour of Budapest was outstanding, the guide (Natasha) waited for everyone to gather around before giving her talk. Some tours the guides start talking while some of the coach are still crossing the road. Natasha was excellent. From there we went on the Danube cruise which included commentary by our guide and Beef Goulash as part of the menu option (very tasty). Short visits to Bratislava and Gyor before going to Schonbrunn Palace Gardens in Vienna which was realy beautiful. A classical concert in the evening went down really well. Finished off with a guided city tour of Vienna the following day. Just a couple of negatives. Feeder service from Wetherby Services was chaotic. The coach emptied out for a break and we were told to sit in unoccupied seats. I found a seat with no bags anywhere around but then a couple got on and said that was their seats. Seat numbers should be allocated on feeder coaches to avoid issues going forward, another person said it was chaotic. The waiting at Stop24 was not ideal as one coach missed at least one ferry ! Feeder from Stop24 home was great, no issues.

The choice of hotels are pretty poor. Evening meals in Vienna are below standard. I normally get more with single room supplement with other travel companies. I have to go there again with some other companies.

I went with My Brother and his wife. On top of the initial cost, we payed for.... Extra Sightseeing tours with excellent guides, 2 River trips with lunch. Not to mention a wonderful concert in Vienna. Well worth doing the extra tours, though it meant having little time to ourselves. The coach drivers kept us ''hydrated'' during the many hours travelling, with tea, coffee and other drinks, so we saved money by not having to buy expensive ones at the 'comfort' stops. Without this service the whole experience wouldn't have been half as good. So a big thank you to them.

Comfortable, convenient and well-organised, this was a great way to see some wonderful locations in Europe. The hotels used were fine and some were excellent. The drivers worked so hard at keeping us entertained, the coach clean and the itinerary on time. Hard to fault the entire experience. Highly recommended. The photo shows one of our group thanking our drivers on behalf of us all on the last day.

I enjoyed my holiday the coach crew did a great job. The places we visited were beautiful even though they were a little rushed at times. The food at some of the hotels was often cold and dietary needs were not always met. Consideration needs to be given to the age of the group when guided tours are involved as a 4 hour walking tour without a planned drinks break is not acceptable.
