After breakfast, we leave the hotel and travel to Innsbruck on our included excursion. The capital of the Tyrol, on the River Inn and at the foot of the Karwendel Alps, Innsbruck is the fifth largest city in Austria. This beautiful city is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery and steeped in history.
There will be free time for you to discover the old quarter with its charming arcaded streets, the famous Golden Roof. You can stroll along the Maria Theresien Strasse with its bustling shops or climb the Tower of the City for magnificent views of the city – the choice is yours.
If you fancy escaping the hustle and bustle of the centre, climb aboard the Hungerburgbahn funicular (at own cost) to reach the Hungerburg mountain station where you are guaranteed breathtaking views of Innsbruck. From here, you can also hop aboard the panoramic cable car and continue on up to the Seegrube. Here, you can have lunch at the restaurant or go to the highest viewpoint to the Hafelekar at 2,256m.
We depart this morning for Swarovski Crystal Worlds. With over 14 million visitors since its grand opening, the Crystal Worlds is one of Austria’s most popular attractions. Admire the Swarovski Giant and the Chambers of Wonder, as well as the Crystal Cloud.
We continue to Lake Achen, the largest Alpine lake in the Tyrol. Known as the ‘Fjord of the Alps', Lake Achen is a natural beauty spot. With its eye-catching water colours ranging from emerald green to ultramarine, alongside its fascinating mountain scenery, it’s easy to see why Achensee is such a popular destination.

Voted ‘Austria’s most beautiful village’, Alpbach is picturesquely situated on a sunny plateau 1000 metres above sea level and creates a picture-postcard image with geraniums and other flowers adoring the many window boxes.
From Alpbach, we descend to the Inn Valley to the smallest town in Austria, Rattenberg, and the heart of glassmaking for over 600 years. We visit the oldest glassmaker in the town and see the traditional method of glass blowing, carving and painting.
