This festive tour travels by coach to the pretty Tuscan town Chianciano Terme, a town made up of two distinct parts. Enjoy relaxing in the spa town’s gardens or explore the Old Town, where narrow streets wind their way around the castle. Add the Renaissance of Florence, the ‘eternal city’ of Rome, the delightful town of Siena, plus, a visit to Assisi in to the mix - and you’ve got yourself a solo holiday to Italy, which you’ll remember for years come!

Arrive at our hotel in Chianciano Terme for a six-night stay. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax and begin your explorations of the area.

We begin our explorations of Italy today as we make our way to the Renaissance city of Florence on our included excursion. To make the most of your visit why not join our optional sightseeing tour, where our local guides’ commentary will reveal many of the stories behind the buildings and personalities that have shaped the history of this magnificent city. Travel by coach up the hills behind the city, to Piazza Michelangelo. Here you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the city and surrounding countryside. Once you have taken your photos the coach will take you back to the city, where your guide will lead you on a walking tour through the delightful streets of Florence, pointing out the major sights. See the Santa Croce church, the burial place of Michelangelo, the famous statues in Piazza della Signoria and also the magnificent Santa Maria Duomo. Following the tour you will have time at leisure to explore the endless historic sights, see the shops in and around the centuries old Ponte Vecchio, or even have your portrait painted by one of the street artists who usually gather in the square next to the medieval Duomo (Cathedral).

Why not join our optional excursion to the medieval town of Siena? Set on three hills, Siena is drawn together by winding alleyways and steep steps. The town has worked hard to preserve its Gothic architecture, and its centre, the Piazza del Campo is listed by UNESCO as one of the world's most significant historic sites. There will be ample free time for you to explore the town at your leisure.

Today you have the full day to discover the Italian capital city of Rome on our included excursion. Also, known as the ‘Eternal City’ and the famed city of the Roman Empire, it has been a millennium long centre of power, culture and religion. The Historic Centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with wonderful palaces, churches, basilicas, Roman ruins, monuments and fountains. It has an immensely rich historical heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Upon arrival in this beautiful city you will have time at leisure to savor the special ambience of this former capital of the Roman Empire.

Happy New Year! A leisurely day in Chianciano Terme. Perhaps take a stroll around the town, which is made up of 2 distinctive parts – the Spa Town and Old Town. The Spa Town encompasses relaxing gardens. In the Old Town you will find quiet, narrow streets lined with pretty houses, which wind their way around the medieval castle.

Today’s included excursion takes you around Umbria, the ‘Green Heart of Italy’. First, we head to Assisi, world famous as the native town of St. Francis. Assisi is divided into two main parts – the Upper (Parte de Sopra) and the Lower (Parte de Sotto). The upper part of the town is home to the Church of Saint Claire, which dominates the Piazza with its pink and white striped façade. Saint Claire was a loyal follower and friend of Saint Francis and the church was dedicated to her shortly after her death in 1253. Perhaps continue to Piazza del Comune through the typical medieval streets to the Lower part of the town to see the magnificent Basilica of Saint Francis.
