Discover the charm of the country's south-east as we firstly visit Waterford on our optional excursion; with its medieval character and rich history, it is the oldest city in the country. New Year's Eve is spent in Dublin, where Guinness is a must on the agenda! The stunning Wicklow Mountains offer beautiful rugged scenery on New Year's Day, before we end the tour in pretty Kilkenny with its superb castle. A memorable way to ring in the New Year, lasting memories are guaranteed.

Today, enjoy our optional excursion to Waterford – the oldest city in Ireland and first visited by the Vikings in 852 AD. The walled city has retained much of its medieval character, together with the graceful buildings from its 18th century expansion. The parameters of the 10th century settlement can be clearly identified in The Viking Triangle. Reginald's Tower is the most historic urban medieval monument in Ireland.

Today, we visit Dublin. Be sure to get a drink of the ‘black stuff’ in one of the many homely taverns and, of course, see the city’s main highlights, including Trinity College and the Ha’penny Bridge.
Tonight we enjoy our New Year celebrations, including a hot punch reception and gala dinner, followed by entertainment and a glass of sparkling wine at midnight.

Join our full day included tour to the spectacular Wicklow Mountains, visiting the valley of the two lakes, Glendalough, celebrated equally for its beauty and for its historical and archaeological interests.
We end the day in ‘Ballykissangel’ fame, Avoca.

Today's included excursion takes us to Kilkenny, Ireland’s old medieval capital. You have free time to explore the town at leisure or join our optional walking tour. Above the broad sweep of the River Nore sits the castle, while a pretty humpbacked stone bridge leads up into narrow, cheerful streets laced with carefully maintained buildings.

You will stay for five nights at the 4-star Seven Oaks Hotel in Carlow. The hotel prides itself on excellent service, a warm Irish welcome and fine food. Situated in the centre of the town, close to the new cultural quarter, the hotel provides the perfect base for our New Year break. Make use of the excellent leisure club.
