Little Trains of the Pyrenees at Christmas

Join us on this unique festive break as we enjoy a number of rail journeys around the Pyrenees! This wonderful tour, based on the Costa Brava, takes you to some of the most spectacular sights of north eastern Spain. Three remarkable rail rides will leave you with lasting memories, including the Roses Express to explore the Cap de Creus Nature Park, the Núria Valley Railway, and the highlight of the holiday, the Red Train, which meanders through vineyards from the mountains to the sea. With a day at leisure on Christmas Day to unwind in resort, this extraordinary tour is a fantastic way to spend the festive period!

Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, then to our overnight hotel in the Paris area.

We continue south through France and into Spain, to reach our resort for five nights.

We travel by coach to Roses, where we board the Roses Express (little town train) for an included trip to the Cap de Creus Nature Park where we can admire the impressive sea views. Please note that the tracks on this tour are dusty, therefore, we recommend suitable footwear. This afternoon you have time leisure for you to begin your own exploration of the town. Roses is a modern town with shopping, restaurants and bars. Located on the northern edge of the Costa Brava, it is home to some of the most attractive but least crowded beaches in the area.

Included guided excursion, as we head back into France, and to Rivesaltes, where we join the Train du pays Cathere et du Fenouillèdes (also known as the Red Train). We journey through vineyards into the verdant heart of the French Pyrenees – from the mountains to the sea – to the pretty town of Axat. In the afternoon, on the way back to Estarit, we make a short stop in Perpignan for shopping.

Included guided excursion on the Rack Railway up to the Sanctuary of Nuria. Located in the Eastern Pyrenees, the mountain resort of Vall de Nuria, sits high above the Ribes Valley. Breathtaking scenery awaits as we climb more than 100 metres over the 12 kilometre journey.
