This wonderful coach holiday is based in the popular resort of Roses, on the Costa Brava, Spain and features a number of rail journeys around the Pyrenees. A highlight on this holiday is the Yellow Train of the Pyrenees, one of the great railway journeys of the world where the track winds through leafy forests. However, you can also enjoy breathtaking scenery as we ride on the Rack Railway up to the Sanctuary of Núria. Plus, you can travel on the Train du pays Cathare et du Fenouillèdes (also known as the Red Train), on a railway which, in some parts, has been in operation since 1901.

Well organised with relaxed first and final days, after and before the tedious travel days. Good point. Should be included in all long haul-tours. The Coach Team were excellent. Unfortunately the coach was burgled. The team were clearly stressed by this. We empathise with them. Hotel: Victoria - Breakfast generally good. However the restaurant was not always open in time to facilitate early start-outs. Paris: Negotiating Paris is a recurring problem. Over many trips we have experienced delays. On this trip we arrived at the overnight hotel too late to order any thing other than than a 'miserable' pizza. Why is it necessary to traverse Paris? Paris is always congested, a cause of tiring delays for Crew and passengers, fuel inefficient and wearing on people and vehicle. Otherwise the tour content was very good. Train experience very enjoyable, Roses Express a delightful surprise. Change over much improved from past experiences - thanks to a staff for that We enjoyed this tour. P & T Wilson

We enjoyed our holiday in Roses Spain. The train rides were lovely, especially the road train. It was more than we expected on our first day. A trip up the mountains with a glass of wine and cookies at the top where we got off to take in the view. The driver was a very pleasant man too. The Hotel was adequate for our needs. Very clean, rooms serviced every day. Meals ( Buffet style) were good. Something g for everyone's taste and plenty of it. Breakfast was the same. The only disappointment was, on days when we needed to be away early, they didn't provide any hot food. Both overnight Hotels in Paris were basic. The mercury being the worst as regards breakfast. Only the minimum was laid out for our coach. Our two drivers Dave &Alex were both excellent drivers. Once we all got to know each other were very pleasant and accommodating with drinks etc. Our tour guide Ivan was excellent! Very good English speaking and very helpful, especially to our drivers who needed help and could not speak Spanish. We did feel the journey to and from Roses was a little too much. We loved Roses but would fly in the future. Overall Leger holidays are very good, and we would not hesitate to travel with them.

Hotel accommodation was fine, however the buffet foods was a goods selection but was tepid at all times. Alternative itinerary was poor as the lake visit was a non-event. Having been to Figuerres on our free day this would have been a better option.

It was a lovely 9 days but alot of travelling to and from the destination (up to 14 hours on 2 of the days). Also the Yellow train wasn't running due to maintenance work but an alternative boat and inner town train was offered instead. Good trip but slightly expensive.
