We travel by coach to Hutton-in-the-Forest, a 17th-century gem that’s the home of Lord and Lady Inglewood. Its architectural styles range from medieval to Victorian, whilst the interior showcases fascinating collections of art, ceramics, furniture and tapestries. Surrounded by beautiful woodland, the outstanding grounds feature topiary and a terraced rose garden. We will enjoy a guided tour inside and have time to explore the gardens.
From here, we head to Keswick, a picturesque town situated by Derwentwater in the Lake District. Enjoy time to explore the town and perhaps have a spot of lunch before cruising along the idyllic waters of Derwentwater this afternoon.
Afterwards, we return by coach to the hotel.

After breakfast, we travel by coach to Lake Windermere – the largest lake in England. We’ll enjoy a nostalgic steamboat ride from Lakeside, making our way halfway up the lake to Bowness, with plenty of time to explore this quaint town. Continuing our steamboat journey, we head up the lake to Ambleside, where the coach will take us to the charming village of Grasmere.
Grasmere is renowned for its links to William Wordsworth, and we visit the Wordsworth Museum and Dove Cottage to learn more about the poet. Dove Cottage was Wordsworth’s first home in the Lake District and the birthplace of some of his most celebrated poetry. Enjoy time to explore at your leisure, sit back, and soak up the views.
Later, our coach takes us back to our hotel.

Today’s excursion takes us to the magnificent Holker Hall & Gardens. A guided tour will show you the very best of the hall, which is owned by the Cavendish family. Spanning 17,000 acres, this estate boasts stunning gardens, the Cascade, and a marble statue of Neptune. The 200-acre parkland here is notably affiliated with the British Deer Farms & Parks Association. Enjoy free time for exploration and lunch before heading to Haverthwaite, where a nostalgic journey awaits on the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway.
Constructed in the mid-19th century, this 3.2-mile rail line originally functioned as the Furness Railway. Decline in the iron industry, coupled with the impacts of the Great War, led to its closure in 1938. Though it experienced a brief revival in 1946, it wasn't until 1973, after negotiations and refurbishments, that the railway returned to full glory – it has remained open ever since.
After a fantastic journey onboard the train, we rejoin our coach and head back to the hotel.
