Fly to Tel Aviv and transfer to Jerusalem for a three-night stay.

Our tour begins with a panoramic view of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, before visiting the Old City steeped in 3000 years of religion and history, including the site of the Last Supper, the Tomb of King David, and the Wailing Wall - the Holiest site in Judaism. Walk part of the Via Dolorosa, following the footsteps of Jesus to the cross at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

We begin with a visit to the colourful Mahane Yehudah food market, where you can take in the tastes and aromas. Next we visit the Israel Museum viewing some of the Dead Sea Scrolls, one of the most exciting archaeological discoveries ever unearthed. Return to the hotel, or free time to explore before making your own way back to the hotel.

Dead Sea Mahane Yehudah

We leave the Jerusalem high ground, descending 800 meters into the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, the first of our three seas on this tour. Visit Masada, King Herod the Great's desert fortress where Jewish rebels held out for three years against the Roman Empire. Visit Qumran, where in 1947 a nomad shepherd boy inadvertently stumbled across the first of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Check into our hotel on the shores of the Dead Sea. Perhaps take a relaxing swim in the serenity of the lowest place on earth.

Travel south through the beautiful Negev Desert scenery, stopping for refreshments at a Kibbutz. We arrive in Eilat, a popular resort on the shores of the Red Sea, around midday for a three-night stay. Enjoy the lovely beaches and the cafes surrounded by red mountains flanking the Gulf of Aqaba.

Drive north through the tranquillity of the Nogev desert visiting Timna Park's 'Geological Window' with its impressive array of rock formations as well as the ancient copper mines where Egyptians slaved in extreme conditions, before arriving in Tel Aviv, our Mediterranean base for the next two nights.

Accommodation

Accommodation will be on a half board basis in 3-star hotels such as the Caesar Hotel in Jerusalem for three nights, overnight in the Prima Oasis at the Dead Sea, three nights at Caesar Hotel in Eilat on the Red Sea and two nights in Tel Aviv at the City Hotel or Tal Hotel. All hotels will have a lift and restaurant.
