Krakow’s Old Town is placed on the UNESCO list of protected World Historic Sites on account of its fabulous architecture. During our included sightseeing tour you will see the delights of the Old Town and Wawel Castle, impressively situated on a hilltop overlooking the Vistula River. In the afternoon, join our optional tour to the Salt Mines at Wieliczka. Walk through the impressive galleries and see the fantastic sculptures carved out of the rock salt.

We leave Krakow and travel through Slovakia to Budapest for a two-night stay.

We include a day in Budapest, where you can join our optional sightseeing tour, capturing many of the sights including the Fisherman’s Bastion, the Royal Palace, Parliament Building and St. Stephen’s Basilica. Beginning with a drive to Gellért Hill, we then cross the famous Chain Bridge and travel on to the Pest district, passing Heroes’ Square and ending back across the bridge in the Buda Castle district.

Spend a day in Vienna. Once the centre of the Habsburg Empire, Vienna boasts a fascinating imperial heritage with many museums and fine buildings. Sample the local delicacies such as coffee and a slice of ‘Sachertorte’. Our optional guided tour will show you the principal sights, including the Hofburg Palace, Parliament Building, Opera House, National Theatre, the City Hall and the house where Johann Strauss composed the Blue Danube Waltz.

We leave Austria and head back into Slovakia. Enjoy a brief orientation tour of the highlights of Bratislava, Slovakia’s capital, with its exquisitely renovated centre of Baroque palaces, fountains and romantic streets. We continue to Prague, where we stay for two nights.

We include a full day in Prague, widely recognised as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Our optional, guided walking tour will introduce the splendid architecture of Prague Old Town. The many historic buildings, grand squares and elegant landmarks such as Wenceslas Square, the famous Astronomical Clock and Charles Bridge make it a lovely place to explore on foot. Our local guide’s informative commentary will reveal many of the stories behind the buildings and personalities, which have shaped the history of this magnificent city.

You will stay for two nights at the 4-star Hotel Konrad, or similar, in Krakow, followed by two nights at the 4-star Novotel City in Budapest. You will then stay for two nights at the 4-star Austria Trend Ananas in Vienna and two nights at the 3-star Ibis Hotel Malastrana or Hotel International in Prague. All hotels have a restaurant, bar and lift.
