Make your own way to London King's Cross Station for a late-morning departure to Edinburgh. Sit back and relax as you leave London and head north, passing through Northumberland with its beautiful coastal scenery, then through the Scottish Borders before arriving into Edinburgh. Our coach will be there waiting to transfer us to our hotel for a 3-night stay. We enjoy an included welcome dinner in the hotel this evening.

After breakfast at the hotel, a knowledgeable Blue Badge guide joins us as we board our coach, with a stop at Queensferry South to take in the stunning views of Forth Bridges. Once back in Edinburgh, we continue the sightseeing tour on foot. The captivating city of Edinburgh, Scotland's majestic capital, is celebrated for its rich history, artistic spirit, and fantastic attractions. With magnificent architecture, maze-like alleys, and an iconic castle atop a dormant volcano, the sightseeing opportunities are endless. Enjoy some free time to explore after the tour.

Reboarding the coach, we head towards the Palace of Holyroodhouse, nestled at the end of the historic Royal Mile. Used by the King when carrying out official engagements in Scotland, the Palace has close associations with some of Scotland’s most well-known historic figures, such as Bonnie Prince Charlie and Mary, Queen of Scots. We include entrance into the Palace of Holyroodhouse and you’re free to explore at leisure.

Afterwards, we return by coach to the hotel and the rest of the afternoon and evening are at leisure – why not enjoy one of the many restaurants the city has to offer?

Edinburgh with Guided Tour The Palace of Holyroodhouse

Today, we're accompanied by our knowledgeable Blue Badge guide as we visit the iconic Royal Yacht Britannia. This majestic vessel has played host to an impressive 968 state visits, offering the royal family the opportunity to entertain numerous heads of state and prime ministers, sailing over 1,000,000 nautical miles in the process. With the aid of an audio guide, we'll explore all five decks and gain a unique insight into what life was like on board Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s former floating palace. Admire the grandeur of the State Apartments, wander the Crew's quarters, and discover the engine room.

After our visit, we return back to Edinburgh by coach, with the rest of day for you to spend at your leisure. A visit to the festive Christmas market in Princes Street Gardens is a must, with its array of traditional chalets selling festive foods, gifts and decorations. The evening is free for you to explore the city further and make your own way back to the hotel at leisure.
