Local departure by coach, then to Château Tilques in northern France for a three-night stay. An aperitif will be served before dinner this evening.

Free morning to enjoy the facilities of the château hotel. Later, we include a visit to St. Omer, a traditional market town with a pretty main square, the Place du Marechal Foch, on our included excursion. Explore the maze of narrow medieval streets, see the beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral and the ruins of Saint Bertin’s Abbey. Browse for souvenirs, enjoy lunch in one of the many fine restaurants or take a cruise.

Included excursion to Boulogne, one of the chief fishing ports of France and a joy to explore. See the 13th century city walls and explore the old town with its medieval belfry and Basilica de Notre Dame. We continue along the Opal Coast, long associated with artists such as Monet and Boudin. We head past beautiful sandy beaches to the elegant and popular resort of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, playground of wealthy Parisians.

Accommodation

You will stay for three nights at Château Tilques, situated only a few miles from the centre of St. Omer. The hotel is located only a short drive from Calais, and enjoys a magnificent setting in beautiful parkland.

Built in the late 19th century, this gabled Flemish-style château offers a wealth of excellent facilities and fine dining. Take a leisurely walk around the grounds or enjoy an invigorating dip in the pool.

The gourmet restaurant 'Le Vert Mesnil' is set in the former stables of the château. Here you can enjoy fine cuisine and a buffet breakfast. The hotel also has a comfortable lounge bar and terrace.

Accommodation is in standard double or single rooms located in the château. Alternatively, from just £45pp, you can upgrade to one of the deluxe twin rooms located in the Pavillon du Parc, close to the château. These larger rooms feature bathrobes and slippers and have balcony or terrace.
