Our day begins with a scenic drive through the Black Forest region to the university town of Freiburg. Known for its historic old town and fine architecture, popular landmarks in the town include the ornate Freiburg Minster, with its 116 metre tall tower, and the old and new town halls. Freiburg is also known for the miniature canals which run through its streets. Known as ‘Bächle’ these waterways used to supply water to the town for industrial use, and it is said that those who step into the miniature canals are sure to visit Freiburg again.
We then travel to Triberg, home to Germany’s highest waterfalls, and to the pilgrimage church of ‘Maria in der Tanne’. Renowned for its cuckoo clock tradition, Triberg’s carvers, clockmakers and clock shops help to shape the distinctive character of this charming town.

Not good value for money. Hotel accommodation was too basic. Trips out not particularly good since several places were closed for the winter months. Do not pay the cost of this holiday just to walk round shops either! Cannot fault the coach or the drivers, nor the hotel in Brussels. Leger as a Company is good, but this particular holiday was not.
