From your base in the heart of the French Alps, enjoy stunning scenery on this charming tour, as we visit picturesque towns and magnificent mountains. We begin in Chamonix, home to one of the world’s highest cable car systems, allowing you to view the spectacular sights from above. You will have the chance to visit the city of Geneva, which has a fine selection of buildings, parks and gardens, stylish shops and cafés and is set alongside Lake Geneva, where you can take delightful waterside walks. Dominated by its castle – which took over four centuries to build – we arrive in Annecy, where you can stroll the city’s quaint old town with its canals and revel in the beauty from the lake-side promenade.

We include a full-day excursion to Chamonix. The resort is around 3,500 feet above sea level and sits astride the River Arve, which rises in Mont Blanc’s largest glacier, the Mer de Glace. Chamonix is also home to the highest cable car system in the world to the top of Mount Midi (12,600 feet) for spectacular Alpine views.

The Alpine extravaganza continues today with an included excursion to Annecy, situated on the lake of the same name. Capital of the Haute Savoie, Annecy is a most beautiful town and is dominated by its castle, which was built over the course of four centuries. As well as a picturesque lakeside promenade, you can wander through the quaint old town, which has arcaded streets criss-crossed by canals.

You will stay for four-nights at the So'Well Hotel in St Gervais les Bains. Overnight stays in northern France will be in city-style hotels.
