Itinerary

Please choose your preferred 9 day itinerary

Local departure by coach or Door-to-Door service, and then to your overnight hotel in northern France.

Continue into Italy and to our hotel in Aosta for three nights.

After a relaxing morning we include an afternoon guided excursion to the small Roman town of Aosta. Enjoy a walking tour of the town before we head to Fenis Castle, so typical of the Aosta Region.

Castle of Fenis (Aosta)

Optional excursion to Courmayeur, the oldest alpine spa town located right at the foot of the Europe’s highest peak, Mont Blanc. We will take the first section of the Mont Blanc cable car to reach the Saussurea alpine botanical garden at the altitude of 2,175 metres. The garden takes its name from a very rare plant which grows in the rocky pastures: the Saussurea alpina.

Today we leave Val d’Aosta and head to the city of Turin, the lively cultural capital of the Piedmont region. Magnificent churches, museums and sumptuous royal palaces can be seen on our optional guided walking tour of the city. Make sure you try the famous Turinese chocolate coffee drink called the Bicerin. We then head to the hills of Langhe where we will spend the next three nights.

View of Turin over the Po River

Included scenic drive with a local guide through the Langhe region to discover one of world’s most famous wine-growing regions, with beautiful panoramic views of the hilly landscape and its castles and fortresses. The pretty town of Alba, famous for the white truffle and its lovely buildings is a highlight. We pause in La Morra with its breathtaking views across the local vineyards, then continue to Barolo, birthplace of the world-famous wine of the same name, where we include a visit to a local winery.

This morning join our optional, half-day excursion to Mondovi, a beautiful hill-top town with a picturesque Piazza and where the upper and lower parts of the town are connected by cable car.

Accommodation

You will stay for three nights at the 3-star Hotel Elena in St. Vincent Val d'Aosta. The hotel has a restaurant, bar and small garden, and is situated in the centre of the town. You will then stay for three nights at the 3-star Hotel Langhe Cherasco. The hotel has a bar, restaurant and lift.
