4-Star Trentino Christmas Markets & Lake Garda

Experience the festive season in Italy, as we explore the markets of the Trentino region, together with time on Lake Garda and in the city of fair Verona. We begin with a scenic drive along the shores of Lake Garda as we head to Verona, where we spend time exploring the German style Christmas Markets, situated in the city’s old square. We then spend a day enjoying the merry atmosphere at the Christmas markets of Bolzano and Merano. Explore the decorated streets and discover unique, festive finds on the many market stalls. Before we head home, we spend time doing some last minute shopping at Trento’s Christmas market, and exploring the Noarna Castle, where you can indulge in some local wine tasting. The perfect way to end your festive holiday!

We head through Germany and Austria to Italy and our hotel in Arco for four nights.

Included scenic drive along the Lake Garda shore road. We head to Verona, where we offer an optional walking tour of this famous city. Later, browse the Christmas market which takes place in the main square. This German-style market boasts elegantly illuminated and decorated wooden huts where you can taste specialities, such as mulled wine, bratwurst and stollen cake.

Verona Lake Garda

Included excursion to Bolzano, set against the backdrop of the Rosengarten Dolomites. Explore the romantic, arcaded streets and picturesque square in the medieval town centre, festooned with garlands and immersed in the aroma of roast chestnuts. The Christmas market offers traditional handicraft items created from wood, glass and clay. We continue to the pretty spa town of Merano, which also offers a Christmas market at this time of year.

Bolzano Merano

In the morning, visit Trento and its Christmas market. After time for lunch, we visit Castel Noarna with an included tasting of the local wines. The castle, with its thousand years of history, dominates the entire valley. It was built in the 11th century and enlarged and embellished with Michelangelo-style frescoes in the 16th century.

You will stay for four nights at the 4-star Palace Hotel Citta in Arco, which is located in a central position, within walking distance of the bars and restaurants of the resort. The hotel has a bar and restaurant. During our stay we will have one evening with live music and also a grappa tasting.

Overnight stays in Belgium will be in city-style hotels.
