There’s no better way to start your day in the UK than with a full English breakfast, but you’re not just limited to eating it in the morning, with many pubs offering all-day breakfast. Usually consisting of bacon, sausages, eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, hash browns and toast, you’ll definitely be full if you manage to clean your plate!
A Sunday roast is an important part of British culture, and nothing beats having one at a traditional pub! The most common meats used are beef, chicken, lamb and pork, accompanied by roast potatoes, stuffing, vegetables and, of course, Yorkshire puddings. Smother in gravy and you’re good to go.
Another British classic, pies are the perfect antidote to our harsh winters. Coming in all shapes and sizes, popular fillings include steak, kidney, chicken, mushroom and minced beef, ideally served with creamy mash potato and lots of gravy.
Considered to be the country’s national dish, you’ll find fish and chips no matter where you are in the UK, but they’re the best by the coast – be careful of thieving seagulls! Enjoy with a variety of sides, ranging from mushy peas to tartar sauce.
